The MI-17 can be differentiate from MI-8 because the tail rotor is at the starboard side and the TV3-117 engine is shorter than theTV2-117. The helicopter can be used several purposes:\ncargo and troop transport, can be equipped with missiles, bombs, small arms and cannons.
