As an suggestion from Railion, I am starting an thread for showing off the catenary in your country, discuss the beauty/ugliness of it, as well as tell something about it.

Let me start DC something thousand volt, erected in the sixties, been here since, angular, massive rusty shapes. Suburban traffic.

That's too bad :( But oh well, I am looking for information on German (DDR) Catenary especially, since I think Soviet engineers helped build it, so an little piece of SU is still left on some German electrified stretches.

Here are some pictures from Dutch catenary, made by myself:

This type of catenary is mainly to see in the north, northeast and east of the Netherland: http://www.flickr.com/photos/40012911@N06/3675296987/ At this picture is one of the best trains to see that we have in the Netherlands: ICM
This type of catenary is almost everywhere in the Netherlands to see (I'm sorry that the picture was taken in the evening: http://www.flickr.com/photos/40012911@N06/3814124419/
This picture shows the modern type of catenary, meant for many tracks:

This aren't the last pictures:)

PS: I'm sorry that the information about the pictures is only in Dutch, but if you want, you can translate it or ask it to me.

Thank you for sharing pictures with us, the last catenary bridge resembles in some way an Russian modern one for many tracks. ((If you download the AC/DC catenary pack from Trainz.ru you'll see it as "balka2(e)s"))

But as I said, Russian modern catenarys are slowly replacing the old ones, maybe someone deems it good ,and functional, but I say they are just ugly, and European-looking...
