Russian passenger steam locomotive S series (#68) and passenger consist #01
Steam locomotive "S" serie was designed by engineer Malahovsky in Sormovo factory in 1910 as an engine for fast and express trains. This engine favoured for reliability, low maintenance costs, fuel economy and riding comfort and deserved to be one of the best Russian passenger steam locos. "S" serie engines were produced in between 1910-1919 on Sormovo, Lugansk, Nevskiy and Kharkov factories. Total 678 units were built.
